Gyrus Capital closes debut Gyrus Investment Programme

GENEVA, Switzerland, August 12, 2021 – Gyrus Capital S.A. (“Gyrus” or the “Firm”) an investment firm dedicated to investments in the healthcare and sustainability sectors, today announced the final closing of the Gyrus Investment Programme bringing total funding to over €430 million.  The Gyrus Investment Programme is an innovative structure which includes the debut Gyrus Principal Fund, a conventional multi asset pooled investment vehicle, and the Cortex Fund, a committed capital deal-by-deal co-investment fund.

“Investors in the funds include existing relationships and new institutional relationships of the highest quality and we are honoured to have their support” said Guy Semmens, Partner and Co-Founder of Gyrus Capital. “We launched and raised the Fund during the Covid crisis and despite the twin challenges of it being a first-time fund and an unexpected pandemic, we are delighted with what we have achieved and hugely appreciative of all those who helped us get here.”

Gyrus Capital is an investment firm dedicated to transformational investments in sectors with long term sustainable growth: healthcare and sustainability.  This dedicated focus has resulted in a strong network of relationships across these sectors which has enabled Gyrus to build a reputation for being able to successfully execute complex deals in both the healthcare and sustainability sectors.

To date, the Firm has completed four platform acquisitions (three carve-outs and one founder transition) and will leverage its sector focus to support management to drive change and unlock value.  Target investments are companies with an enterprise value between €50 million to €500 million.

“We believe transformational investments enabled by our focus on the healthcare and sustainability sectors will produce sustainable growth and out-performance for our investors” said Dr. Robert Watson, Partner and Co-Founder of Gyrus Capital.  “Despite only being founded recently, Gyrus has built a strong competitive position as one of few industry players with a strategy combining a healthcare and sustainability focus with deep corporate carve-out experience.”

Given the current pipeline, Gyrus expects the Programme to be fully deployed within the next twelve months and so plans to lunch Fund II in 2022.
